ASTM Publishes New Revision of ASTM D-613
Standard Test Method for Cetane Number of Diesel Fuel Oil
ASTM has recently released a new revision to Standard Test Method for Cetane Number of Diesel Fuel Oil, D613-17b, which incorporates changes that affects use of current diesel products by engine users.
Cetane Number ARV ranges are now specified (versus recommended) for High and Low Check fuels as well as Secondary Reference Fuels. In addition, maximum levels of Hydroperoxide number, mg/kg as O, have also been specified for High and Low Check fuels as well as Secondary Reference Fuels. The changes are summarized in the following table:

Going forward users of High and Low Check fuels as well as Secondary Reference Fuels should make sure their fuels meet this new ASTM standard. Customers of Haltermann Solutions™ using fuel in their inventory can use these fuels with confidence as Haltermann Solutions™ has evaluated its current supply (and product delivered to our customers) and determined that all its High and Low Check fuels as well as Secondary Reference Fuels meet this new requirement and have revised Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to reflect this change.
